Martin Bergamaschi, Owner and Lead Trainer

Martin Bergamaschi, the owner of Tango Dog Training, holds a Bachelor of Science in Cynology (Canine Science) from Bergin University of Canine Studies. In 2016, he relocated to Texas to establish a branch of a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching and managing a therapeutic program for veterans. This program focuses on training service dogs for wounded warriors, and Martin played a pivotal role in raising and training over twenty service dogs and puppies. He also supported numerous veterans in pet dog training.

In 2019, Martin returned to California, where he now collaborates with Sirius Dog Training while continuing his work with Tango Dog Training. Martin also teaches family dog classes at Marin Humane en español. He is an active member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers.

Martin is passionate about fostering strong bonds between dogs and their families. He excels in bridging communication gaps between humans and their canine companions through teaching effective communication skills, confidence-building games, and facilitating “ah ha!” moments. He has witnessed firsthand the therapeutic benefits that dogs bring to wounded warriors and is committed to helping families experience this connection through his private lessons and group classes.

Growing up in Argentina, Martin was surrounded by dogs from a young age, which helped him develop an early understanding of canine body language and behavior. He also volunteered as a behavior evaluator and trainer at the Sonoma County Humane Society and Rohnert Park Animal Shelter.

In his personal life, Martin enjoys training and competing with his wife, Lindsey, and their three dogs: Reina, a Cane Corso; Chai, a Standard Poodle; and Rex, a Shih Tzu. Their activities include trick dog training, NADD dock diving, Scent Work, Rally Obedience, and AKC Conformation.

When he's not working with dogs, Martin stays active with running and mountain biking.

Lindsey Bergamaschi, Trainer

Lindsey's passion for canine health and behavior began at a young age. At just five years old, she repeatedly checked out the Encyclopedia of Dogs from her local library, absorbing and memorizing detailed information about each breed. Her fascination with dogs continued as she watched the Westminster Dog Show annually, dreaming of one day owning her own show dog.

While attending high school in the Philippines, Lindsey delved into dog sports with her Shih Tzu, Rex, and her family’s German Shepherd, Bruno. Her efforts paid off when she and Rex earned second place at an agility fun match in Manila, earning a spot in the Manila Bulletin. Afterward, she trained in agility and obedience with top trainers in the Philippines before returning to California in 2011.

At Sacramento State University, Lindsey explored various career paths in the dog industry. She worked at several dog daycare facilities and trained under local trainers. When she rescued her bully breed mix, Bravo, Lindsey collaborated with multiple trainers to address his aggression and reactivity issues. She also volunteered as a canine walker with the Sacramento SPCA, contributing to the rehabilitation and adoption of dogs. In 2016, Lindsey earned her B.S. in Canine Studies from Bergin University of Canine Studies (BUCS). During her studies, she continued working with local shelters and dog daycares and began collaborating with a Cane Corso breeder, managing group play, care, and training.

Lindsey joined Martin in establishing the Paws for Purple Hearts South-Mid regional headquarters in San Antonio, Texas. She led public relations and outreach efforts for the program and facilitated service dog training and therapeutic interventions at VA and Department of Defense facilities in San Antonio and Austin.

After relocating to California in 2019, Lindsey completed her Associate’s, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degrees in Psychology and is currently pursuing a PhD in Clinical Psychology and interested in researching human and animal connections.

In her free time, she trains and competes with their Standard Poodle, Chai, and Cane Corso, Reina, in conformation, scent work, and agility. Lindsey now assists with training stay-and-train pups and offers support in private sessions.
